Each time we met I thought I knew her more
I’d find a way to see a different side
There wasn’t any way that she could hide
But every day she changed the mask she wore
I never knew who’d let me in the door
Or would there even be a smiling face
She told me I was never out of place
But every day she changed the mask she wore
It seems that we must dance around the floor
Each different tune a different girl to see
I dreamt I’d find the perfect one for me
But every day she changed the mask she wore
Each time we met I thought I knew her more
But every day she changed the mask she wore
Author notes
an echo Sonnet, a form of my own, based on a kyrielle sonnet, but with 10
syllable (ideally iambic pentameter) lines and rhymed abba acca adda aa
Like the kyrielle sonnet each of the four stanzas ends in the same line (or a
modified line using the same rhyming word) and the first line is repeated as
the thirteenth.

About the picture and inspiration

Spiral Studios, Chameleons.

FROM THE ARTIST:

The images from the muse series are all independent entities tied together only
by the common theme of the erotic nude and relationship between artist & muse.
“She becomes the canvas from which I hang my feelings and thoughts, fears and
desires. She is all things to one man. She is the most intimately personal and
the objectified impersonal she is my muse.”

From the ‘muse’ series – We play games, to get us through life. We are never
the same person for long. Changing to suit the situation like chameleons. We
hardly know the true ‘us’ only the us in the now, in this specific moment, we
change our colours and keep each other alive with anticipation.”
