In a hurly-burly, harum-scarum, helter-skelter way
She unpicks the prickly problems others pose to blight her day
She can list the Kings of England, do a long division sum
There is nothing that’s beyond her, she’s a Mum.

With a modicum of madness she can separate a knot
That is far more polly-tanglish than the one the Gaudian got.
She’s unphased by toddler tantrums understands the teenage hum
Meet the modern superhero, she’s a Mum

Helps with last-night’s history homework putting breakfast on the plate
Doesn’t flinch from week-old sports kit in an almost deadly state
Keeps the youth of modern Britain firmly underneath her thumb
She is not a politician, she’s a Mum

There are many with a Mother who won’t know what I’m about
They see strings of small disasters while they hear a strangled shout
They aren’t blessed as just a few are with the perfect lifelong chum
That is far beyond a parent, it’s a Mum
I’m so pleased to tell you all, I have a Mum!!!
