A tribute to Sir Edmund Hillary
Whom no sane man would think to pillory
He climbed the heights with utmost skillery
A noble man of peace
With Tensing Norgay conquered Everest
To help his friends he vowed he’d never rest
A leader of men and climber of the best
A man who worked for peace
Raised money for the land he grew to love
That he had seen first time from well above
Of mountain men he was quite clearly “Guv”
And now he rests in peace
