In the Early morning sunshine, sitting swinging by the sea,
Is a beauty of the ocean and I swear she looks for me.
By a sea that’s flat as Norfolk, when there’s hardly any breeze,
I am walking in the wavelets that my toes just love to tease.

I can feel her contemplating, is her love aboard a boat?
Is she waiting for an answer to the poetry she wrote?
Is she lonely while she’s swinging should I try to catch her eye?
Though I long to sit beside her I am diffident and shy.

Walking daily in the water does she wonder where I go?
As she swings in total silence bathed in early morning glow;
If I talk to her tomorrow, will she fall in love with me,
In the Early morning sunshine, sitting swinging by the sea?
