Sixty second rhyme

The time it ticks away all day
My life in play
Every second
Duly reckoned
The clock it sits upon the shelf
No life itself
But with no fuss
Tells time for us
Each minute marked with sixty tocks
From all our clocks
No waste of time
A life in rhyme
Author notes
A minute poem, written for a contest.
The required form was 3 quatrains each rhymed in couplets and of 8,4,4,4
syllable iambic lines.
I find iambic metre very tough.
