Solitude

Solitude

In the middle of a crowded street
I’m always on my own
Wherever happy people meet
I find I stand alone
The early morning train is full
But nobody will share
Throughout the urban push and pull
Who’s really there to care?

I sit down at my desk each day
And have to work and chat
I see my colleagues laugh and play
But I’m not part of that
My life is filled with people but
There’s nothing I can do
The road to happiness is cut
Until I’m there with you.

Author notes
“Solitude doesn’t have to be alone.”
