Sounds of Sunset

I listened to the colours as the sun condensed to gold
A riotous mix of stunning sky-blue-pinks
A writer in a word-storm with a vision far too bold
Who’s composing prose in many coloured inks
Then the night began descending like an orchestra of knives
Cutting music from the sky in ragged streaks
All the clouds had started running and were screaming for their lives
As the hawks of dark were tearing them with shrieks
Next the diamond drills of nighttime poked out brightly shining holes
And the constellations fought to own the sky
In a final crash of cymbals darkness claims all living souls
And another day of autumn bids goodbye
