The genius that saw this starry night
Created dreams from nightmares all around.
He looked inside and painted all he found,
Explored for us the magic in the light.
His painting was his one escape from fright,
A tortured mind that never understood;
Rewards are rarely given to the good,
Explored for us the magic in the light.
Now all across the world he’s brought delight
But far too late to save his tortured soul.
A life confined to thoughts as black as coal
