A friend of mine would make you cry
With poetry that won’t relent
So raise you glass and wipe your eye
“The Poet Laureate of Kent”
She’s known as Sue and writes in rhyme
Except when free verse is her bent
A lady who has reached her prime
“The Poet Laureate of Kent”
I know she counts me as a friend
And keeping that is my intent
So drink a toast at this rhyme’s end
“The Poet Laureate of Kent!!!”
