Summer Rain

On a gentle summer evening she was walking through the trees
Her skirt was light and airy and it fluttered in the breeze
He was sitting doing nothing watching nature strolling by
And she hardly saw the twinkle in his eye
It was warm, not overbearing, it was cloudy, but not grey
And the trees were sprinkled sweetly with the beauty of the day
Then the sky began to drizzle, hardly worth the name of rain
As he watched the lovely lady in the lane
She was getting ever nearer now he saw her floating hair
Like a vision growing clearer through the mist-moist evening air
When the sunset threw a sunbeam she was spotlit like a star
And a rainbow formed above his Shangri-La
In that multicoloured daylight beauty stirred him deep within
For the lady he was watching caught the raindrops on her skin
And a million shining gemstones flashed a message few could miss
Every girl awash with diamonds needs a kiss
Then she kissed him as he kissed her and her heart began to play
Gentle rhythms like the raindrops on a warm wet summers day
With her skirt and shirt transparent he had lost the great campaign
To the beauty whose soft skin was washed in rain
Author notes
Not really even sensual, maybe I ought to redo an edgier one
