Sunny smiles

I need a happy face on gloomy days
Without the Sun a smile will have to do
When skies are grey the voice inside me says
I’ll have to get my sunshine seeing you
Some people say a smile can dry up rain
It isn’t true but I know what they mean
Each tiny pitter pat can seem like pain
Until your eyes make everything serene
And then on sunny days I need you too
Without your smile the Sun can feel like rain
But walking next to you the World is new
And I can touch the future once again
The weatherman makes forecasts every day
But when you smile who cares what he may say
