Sunshine on a Rainy Afternoon

The day is wet and dreary
And there’s nothing much to do
But when I’m sad and weary
I turn all my thoughts to you
You’re sunshine on a rainy afternoon

Tonight the stars may twinkle
And the Moon shed silver light
But you were made to sprinkle
Days with intimate delight
You’re sunshine on a rainy afternoon

In dreams of happy laughter
I stand by you in the sun
Enjoying ever after
Making all I live for fun
You’re sunshine on a rainy afternoon

Whenever I discover
Things are not as they should be
I feel my secret lover
As she turns to smile at me
You’re sunshine on a rainy afternoon

Umbrellas save a drenching
And a raincoat keeps you dry
But it’s thoughts of gentle wenching
That allows my heart to fly
You’re sunshine on a rainy afternoon

I’ll never mind the weather
Never try to hide away
If we can be together
On some far off future day
You’re sunshine on a rainy afternoon
And everyone needs sunny afternoons
Please bring me many sunny afternoons
My dream of every sunny afternoon

OK so it’s a silly love-song

I happen to like silly love-songs!
