Surprises

He wasn’t quite the man that she’d expected
Was it so late that she was doomed to stay?
The images she’d carefully inspected
Had photoshopped some minor truths away.
She wasn’t quite as slim as she’d suggested,
Amazing what the camera can conceal,
Big Mac and chips, too frequently digested,
Are not the fuel for building buns of steel.
The hotel room the travel firm had booked them
Was smaller than the website had implied;
They’d read the warning words but overlooked them
It would be harsh to say the blurb had lied.
And yet that night they found one last surprise
The lust they shared was worth a million lies!
