On the morning of Undari on the moon of Ootermay
We were stalking several lumpars that we’d cook for lunch that day
Far above us were the starbirds that had told us of this place
And were happy to observe us in the chase

When we set off from our starbase twenty light years out from Earth
We were staggered to discover that this moon could hide the birth
Of a species that spoke English and lived high up in the sky
And were shocked to find we really couldn’t fly

Ootermay is quite a giant almost larger than the sun
And it’s rings cascade with lightning making starbirds scream in fun
When we tasted deep fried lumpars we were glad we sought the stars
There is nothing quite so tasty back on Mars

We were mining antimatter near a black hole that we found
When the starbirds in their starship stopped to ask us to pop round
For they couldn’t quite believe it there were mammals that could talk
And the way they got around was just to walk

When we’re done with our exploring we will head back home to Sol
To the star that spawned our species and the bands play rock and roll
There we’ll tell them of Undari and the journeys we have flown
And we’ll still just talk to parents on the phone!
