An unexpected present makes you glow
Praise from those you love will make you smile
The finest feeling that I’ll ever know
Will sit inside my heart for quite a while
When someone does for you the nicest things
You want to tell the world that it’s OK
You find your spirit takes off on its wings
And everyday can feel a holiday
This sonnet is the way I say thank-you
Please take it as a mark of how I feel
That really was a lovely thing to do
And now I know such kindnesses are real
I think you from the bottom of my heart
Your little gift has torn the clouds apart.
