That’s Ornithology!

The twitcher’s life is rather strange
He hangs around to see
The rarest birds within his range
That’s ornithology
The tiny tit tickler flies by night
It’s hunting for tiny tits
And when it finds a pair that’s right
It falls about in fits
It nests within the bra-cup tree
Sub species double A
A bird that’s very hard to see
But such a good game to play!
The wee horny bustard’s an omnivore
Not fussy like the lark
He’s out every night to raise his score
They’re all the same in the dark
His inner city mating flights
Begin with the happy hour
And trying to catch the night’s delights
Is what gives him his power
The twitcher’s life is rather strange
He hangs around to see
The rarest birds within his range
That’s ornithology
The horrible howling hairy hoodie’s
Not that rare at all
When out and about not being good he’s
Hanging around the mall
His plumage is a dowdy black
And quite obscures his head
It’s parents’ call a form of attack
“Not bad just easily led!”
The red-billed twats (we’ve all seen these)
And many another bird
Are often seen upon the breeze
They all of them act absurd
Our garden birds are small and sweet
And dine on nuts and crumbs
These other birds don’t sit and tweet
They’re all just useless bums!!!
The twitcher’s life is rather strange
He hangs around to see
The rarest birds within his range
That’s ornithology
