This universe is really rather large,
Compared to that our Earth’s a grain of sand.
The range of laws and forces that take charge
Are hard for little brains to understand.

Electromagnetism, two in one,
That holds together everything we are,
The strong and weak combine to power the sun
And do the same for each and every star.

But gravity’s the trickiest to know,
So feeble and yet stronger than the rest.
The positives are what we see on show
But gravity will not be second best.

If we add all that there can ever be
It’s cancelled out by good old gravity.

Author notes
Gravity is the only force that always attracts, and since things are moving
apart that means gravity is negative. Many cosmologists believe that the energy
of everything else is cancelled out by gravity, and the Universe is the
ultimate free lunch.
