Some people choose to give themselves to causes
That batter on towards quite dubious ends
But others in the world believe applause is
Reserved for those who treat us all as friends
It can’t be right to fight on pointless issues
When all around there’s good that you can do
Don’t give your time to those who’re preaching tissues
Of silly doctrine, not what’s fresh and true
If you’ve a yen to carry on believing
Believe in life and help the human race
In every land there are some folk achieving
A better life within this headlong chase
Here’s my belief; the best that you can find
Is when you take the time to use your mind!
