We all saw Steve Smith at his meeting
And winced as his pride took a beating
But the press missed one thought
For the first time in sport
An Aussie said he can’t win without cheating!

While many people have been distracted by events in the real world, terrorist
murders in France, millions of US children demanding sanity from their
government, idiot UK politicians squabbling and more, important events have
occurred in South Africa. The Australian test team have been caught cheating.
Not in a spur of the moment way, but discussed by the senior players and given
to the most junior player to carry out.
Cricket matters to Australians, and Australians love to jump on any other
nation’s players who have strayed from the rules while playing their own
heroes. The Australian Prime Minister and other senior politicians have been
expressing their shock and disgust. I may be the only person to think that the
inadvertent humility of an Australian captain is worth celebrating!
