Though she wasn’t born to be Queen
She’s turned out the best that there’s been
A keen sense of duty
And just enough beauty
To serve as our nation’s colleen
She’s reigned here for sixty long years
Through all of our triumphs and fears
And most politicians
In candid admissions
Have welcomed the use of her ears
Some folk of republican bent
May query the cash that we’ve spent
They shouldn’t begrudge her
Or conspire to budge her
No-one wants a daft president
