There are three words that lovers often use
Not meant as often as you’ll hear them said
I think that every lover has to choose
The way to say the words that fill my head
Some people never think before they speak
And throw these words as rice upon a bride
They make the magic spell appear so weak
When it should have the strength of rising tide
I never say these words unless they’re meant
To do so wastes the power that they contain
These words are always given never lent
And giving them should never be a strain
I’ll never say “I love you” just in play
You understand. That’s all I have to say.
