The first time I tasted her lips
My mind had a total eclipse
I couldn’t start slowing
Till warnings were blowing
From klaxons on two passing ships!
Romantic affairs and the sea
Can father some great poetry
But not if a drowning
Replaces the crowning
Of effort with sweet ecstacy!
