To kill a mockingbird

If innocence is made to take the blame
And difference regarded as a crime
Where ugliness replaces the sublime
If you won’t fight for right you share the shame
When prejudice is looked upon as fair
And good men look away from dreadful wrong
Indifference helps visciousness along
If you won’t fight the shame is yours to share
When evil is allowed in open sight
Those who oppose are victimised in turn
With all our history we ought to learn
You share the shame if you won’t join the fight
Our morals stances prove to be absurd
When mobs descend to kill a mockingbird
