I am not French
but today,
I AM CHARLIE.
I cannot draw cartoons
but today,
I AM CHARLIE.
Our World, is beautiful
but beauty is not enough
for fools,
for thugs,
so today,
I AM CHARLIE.
No man can know the mind of his god,
no reading of dead texts can justify dreadful deeds,
so today,
I AM CHARLIE.
Driven on by lust and hatred
the evil men of history,
the evil men of today,
claimed the right to decide who lives and who dies,
who is heard and who must kowtow.
But
I AM CHARLIE
I will not surrender all that has been won
will not allow the pornography that passes for belief in too many minds
to rule my life,
so today,
and every day,
I AM CHARLIE.
