Today is grey

Today is grey,
clouds worry the sky,
the birds seem shy,
bushes aren’t alive
with bees and butterflies
and flowers hide their faces.
The breeze is cool,
not cold and dank,
but June does not blaze
today.
Raspberries,
waiting to be picked,
bring smiles
and a frog
at the edge of the tiny pond
still waits for boatmen and skaters
but
today is grey.
