Today’s Forecast

The day began with dreary, drizzling clouds;
It’s hard to smile when everything is grey.
No happy face emerged from seething crowds
No friendly voice with soothing words to say.
I overslept, then rushed to overtake,
The list of tasks I’d promised to perform.
As other fools bobbed helpless in my wake
We chased the day like streamers in a storm.
But then I saw a clearing high above,
And through it saw a shining quarter Moon
Reminding me I still believed in love
And I would go to see you very soon.
The worst of days turns sunny for a while
When you are met with kisses and a smile!
Author notes
Just a simple sonnet, with romance, love and the Moon.
