To close you eyes and know you’re not alone
That far away you’re in another mind
On any map the distance can be shown
But you are always here for me to find
To stretch your arm and feel another there
To hold you when the World has let you down
A friend at need who takes the greatest care
Is with you in another distant town
I may not hear your voice or see your face
Or feel you when our lips meet in a kiss
You live your life in quite another place
I long ago resigned to life like this
And yet I close my eyes and we are one
