Tomorrow

Tomorrow

Every moment of tomorrow seemed to decorate the Moon
When you kissed my lips and gently breathed my name
But I can’t forgive tomorrow for it stole away too soon
If I’ve lost you then tomorrow is to blame

When I look back on the future and the memories of you
I can only sigh and dream about the past
When tomorrow was my present I had all the hopes I knew
But today I find the weather’s overcast

When you live life in revision you can miss out on today
Where the past and future meld to build a life
If you can’t live all your dreaming then at least you can make play
For a day that isn’t full of grief and strife

Yesterday may bring me pleasure by restoring all my dreams
Just remember that the future wasn’t quite the way it seems

Author notes
This was originally a three stanza poem where the final couplet was the first
and third lines of this quatrain

Yesterday may bring me pleasure and restore me to my dreams
When I cast aside the curse they call today
Just remember that the future wasn’t quite the way it seems
And tomorrow is the place I want to stay
