Tonight and tomorrow

I kissed your eyes and watched you as you slept
Before I placed a kiss upon your nose
And with each kiss the love I’m feeling grows
I wish I could have held you as you wept
Then as you slept you gave the deepest sigh
In your rest the sorrow in you shows
It hurts to know that you will need to cry
And this was not the path your passion chose
For when you wake I’ll swim inside your eye
And dance within the love that fills your soul
I know that in the future you’ll be whole
The time will come your spirit has to fly
It hurts my heart that you must live this way
So you should dream tomorrow is your day
