Her lover sent love through the soul of a bird
She waited impatient the dreams of her heart
The whispers he gave it were all that she heard
The way they could talk through an ocean apart
The news that it brought her was torture to bear
Her lover lay dying but still would not fade
The bird brought the love that the lovers could share
The notes of despair that his passion had played
Both died in the moment the words hit her mind
The light of her life was transferred to a bird
The lovers now fly with the rest of their kind
This love had such strength that their death was deferred
