A rosebush lies unbettered by the storm
Though bruised and battered she will rise again
When Winter fades the temperature will warm
And roses will adorn the lives of men
When bravery and beauty meet in one
She’ll face the harshest test and stand unbowed
The battle though unasked when it begun
Will last until her victory’s allowed
So delicate she seems yet holds the line
Against the worst that’s grown across her world
She wants to rest yet cannot yet resign
The time has not arrived when flags are furled
She’s all the icon any man could need
A lover with a heart that’s guaranteed
