She’s trapped inside a web she did not weave
No chance to run and build another life
She gave her solemn word she would not leave
So now she stays as his unhappy wife
The trophy on his arm that says he’s “there”
Her beauty only means that he has won
She thought she’d found a man who’d love and care
Instead she found a life devoid of fun
What honour has a man who cannot see
The chains that bind her down should be his shame
A greater man would love or set her free
But he can never see that he’s to blame
If she were bound by love she could rejoice
What sweeter life than being bound by choice
