True beauty

Some men who’ve seen the Taj Mahal by night
Can only show their wonderment in sighs
They tell me nothing else will match the sight
But I have seen forever in your eyes

The Louvre contains man’s greatest works of Art
The paintings that too many fools despise
Although the best are etched inside my heart
They’re childish daubs to one who’s seen your eyes

I’ll never know if all they say is true
Or are the visions merely clever lies
But I was tied by tenderness to you
The moment that I drowned inside your eyes

A fool who’s glad that he was never wise
Has found his true fulfilment in your eyes
