Each year it gets dafter and dafter
And gut-rot will surely come after
But just after five
Every child comes alive
The neighbourhood ringing with laughter

The householders’ thoughts aren’t the same
Unwillingly part of the game
Their hallways are piled
With treats for each child
Of parents who know of no shame

These horrors are dreaming of sweets
And other delectable treets
But I want my fix
Of despicable tricks
‘Cause children make wonderful eats
