The battle rages on …

Each year a battle rages for the best
The blackbirds are the foe I have to fight
I’m not to fussed when they attack the rest
But stealing raspberries is never right!
We’ve tried a net and broken CDs too
But succulent and juicy is the prize
It seems there’s not a lot that I can do
But try to get a share in these supplies
And nothing beats the taste of garden fruit
As pudding or as just a special treat
I feast on every bowl of nature’s loot
There’s pleasure in a treasure quite so sweet
The blackbirds always seem to get a few
But I could always find some more for you!
