The dangers of eating ripe pears

The pear is not an easy fruit to eat
Though sweeter than a apple it’s a tease
It seems that from your eyebrows to your feet
It covers you with juice with utmost ease
When sitting at my desk I felt an urge
To eat the pear that I brought in today
One bite and I experienced a surge
Of sticky peary juices on the way
Now fingers stick each time I try to type
My tie must sport a stain until it’s washed
But I am not a man who’ll sit and gripe
I knew before I ate that I’d get sploshed
Next time I’ll think about the aftermath
And only eat a pear while in the bath!
