The deepest reddest rose

In the high street, there’s a florist, and the florist had a rose
The deepest reddest rose I ever saw
And I stopped outside the florist and I thought how my love grows
And I knew at once what every rose is for
So I went into the florist and I bought the deep red rose
And I walked within my mind to where you live
For it isn’t in the giving of the gift that loving grows
It’s at the time you know just what to give
Now I’m writing this to tell you that I bought the deep red rose
The deepest reddest rose I ever saw
And I’m writing this to tell you that within me loving grows
And I knew at once what every word was for
In my hand I hold for safety to the stem that holds the rose
And I dream that I am living where you live
Though this rose is slowly dying you must know my loving grows
And this verse is all the gift that I can give
So my love please take my offer that is redder than the rose
For you know within your heart what love is for
Please just tell me in a poem that your loving also grows
And our love’s the greatest love we ever saw
