The Dream Catcher

He’s waiting by the water on a summer’s afternoon
Beneath the trees where few will ever see
Ignoring sun-kissed ripples for a flash that’s like the Moon
That means he’s eating stickleback for tea

The only sound’s the chatter of the water on the stones
I’ve given up on otters for the day
Now sleeping after eating peace is seeping to my bones
My daily hurly-burly’s far away

Electric blue explosions hit the surface of the stream
A kingfisher’s the centre of my English rural dream

Author notes
A Sonnetina Tre having three metrical stanzas, two quatrains and a couplet.
