The end of the test

It’s always been a funny game this cricket
Till now the England bowlers were on top
But somehow they can’t find that final wicket
Eventually this silliness must stop
At first the English batsmen played it steady
Till Stokes and Pope decided to cut loose
Then after fun and games Dom Bess was ready
To wash the Springbok batsmen down the sluice.
They followed on and found Joe Root the bowler
With Ollie Pope on hand to catch them out
They must have thought he’s just a part-time roller
With nine men down, the last pair had a shout.
And when it looked so easy to have fun
One man forgot you have to really run!
