The evening star

As sunset’s colours fade to neutral grey
The evening star assumes her rightful place
Her tiny crescent smile to end the day
Is matched by one she spreads across my face
The working week now ends in scenes of peace
And cup in hand I sit to watch the sky
Responsibilities may never cease
But I take time to watch the world go by
At times like these I look back on my past
To see that much of it was rather sweet
The future though approaches rather fast
And life for me is nowhere near complete
The Evening star is love personified
And now I feel her spirit seep inside
