The final rose

A single rose that grows above the snow
When every other bush is brown and bare
A flash of passion no-one else will know
The sweetest rose that’s growing anywhere

A drop of sunset stranded on her own
With nothing to compare on either side
The Queen of love is seated on her throne
The best is left when all the rest have died

No man may pick the final winter rose
A splash of gold can lead a man astray
For underneath the snow perfection grows
This winter rose has swept my heart away

The vision must remain for all to see
That there’s a place where beauty can be free
