The gift of rain

As night and day conspired to fill my hours
And love was just a memory in mind.
I sheltered for a while from passing showers
And came across a face so warm and kind.

We sat and spoke each other’s day away.
Each moment that we spent was joy for me.
I listened to each word you had to say.
The day you changed my life so perfectly.

The moment I first heard your lovely voice.
I knew my life would never be the same.
I hoped that you would come to make the choice.
To take my hand and then to take my name.

In nature rain refreshes all of life,
A passing shower has brought to me a wife.
