The Gnostic

A man I knew was never wrong –
He told us so the whole day long.
He filled his speech with hate and cant,
An expert in the art of rant.

He knew that every other view
Was seeing all the World askew,
No honest folk thought other ways
But lying bastards filled his gaze.

Opponents fuelled with arrogance
Were insects in a pointless dance
“I don’t need you I know I’m right
You’re ignorant and full of spite”

We others who are not so sure,
Will never find his perfect cure,
We’ll labour long yet pointlessly
Our eyes aren’t blind so we can’t see.

This man, and others of his ilk
Take bigotry as mothers’ milk.
I merely wish the pompous arse
Would chance upon a looking glass!
