The Half Mad Half Minute

I thought that I could spare you half a minute,
To pen a poem filled with all you need.
I’m pretty sure you’ll find the content in it
Undamaged by the way I wrote at speed.
Absurdity is such an insane notion
To write a verse that differs from the rest
Most poets here devote their whole devotion
To making their absurdity not best.
This verse of mine will be a great acrostic
But only for a word that no-one knows
And writing it was surely diagnostic
Of injuries sustained from head-bound blows.
I’m stopping now, but not because it’s finished,
I’m stopping ’cause to carry on is wrong.
And as you’ve read your sanity’s diminished
While I’ve composed a bloody awful song!
Author notes
I think I obeyed all the rules
Since they were intended for fools
And I’m pretty sure you won’t see
A fool any bigger than me!
