Not by me, it’s traditional!!!

Willy, Willy, Harry, Ste,
Harry, Dick, John, Harry three,
One, two, three Eds, Richard two,
Henries four, five, six – then who?
Edwards four, five, Dick the bad,
Two more Harries, Ned the lad,
Mary, Bessie, James the vain,
Charlie, Charlie, James again,
Will and Mary, Anna Gloria,
Then four Georges, William, Victoria,
Edward, George, then Ned the eighth
Who quickly goes and abdicates
That leaves George, then Liz the second,
With Charlie next or so it’s reckoned.
That’s the way our monarchs lie
Since Harold got it in the eye!

Author notes
This is from my memory, something reminded me of it earlier and a friend didn’t
know it so I put it here. It is not a quite accurate list there are several two
part reigns during the Wars of the Roses and Matilda (arguably the rightful
Queen rather than Stephen), Louis (French King who ruled here after being
invited in to get rid of John’s corruption) Lady Jane Grey (acknowledged as
Queen by Parliament despite her mother being alive who should by the argument
that made Jane Queen have been Queen instead of Mary) are all missing as are
Oliver and Richard Cromwell who were Kings in all but name during the
interregnum between the Charlies. Also Will and Mary were really succeeded by
Will on his own when Mary died.
