The Luck of the Draw

I didn’t win the lottery last night,
No heir-less billionaires adopted me.
It seems that poverty will be my plight,
I’m sat at work an endless tragedy.
No starlet sighs at photos of my face;
There is no queue outside my bedroom door.
I won’t be taking Cassanova’s place,
My private life is not worth fighting for.
When I was young I knew that I’d be rich,
My fame was sure, my sex appeal unmatched.
But Madam fortune’s such a heartless bitch
That all my dreams were laid, but never hatched.
But in my bed, and in my waking dreams,
You’re here with me; life’s better than it seems!
