The marvels of nature

A sudden flash explodes across the sky
The windows shake before the drums of rain
Long tears of light illuminate the sky
While tears of clouds can wash away the strain

The sparrows huddle in the garden arch
The clematis contains the blackbirds brood
A magpie looks for shelter in a larch
And even pigeons have no thought of food

It’s like the world’s first wash for many weeks
And I am stood relaxing as it pours
With streams of water washing down my cheeks
Who else is daft as me and out of doors

A thunderstorm when Summer’s at it’s height
Is surely mother nature’s finest sight

Author notes
OK so I can write about thunderstorms and keep it non-erotic!
