She gazes in the mirror of the sea
To rearrange the clouds that form her veil
She always tries to look her best for me
Although she knows for me she cannot fail
Her perfect face delights the midnight sky
And silver-plates the crests of every wave
The milky way can only watch and sigh
And every star declares he is her slave
The Moon now rules the kingdom up above
Yet waits for you and me to meet below
There cannot be a finer mood for love
Than meeting in the Moon’s immortal glow
The pleasure of the goddess Artemis
Is realised when you and I first kiss

Author notes
Artemis being a Greek goddess often associated with the Moon
