The Moon tonight is beautiful though not quite full she’s bright
And painting outer London in the softest silver light
The Moon tonight is beautiful she rose as Venus set
As dancers up above us in a monstrous pirouette
The Moon tonight is beautiful she peers through apple trees
To welcome all the night birds with a warm late summer breeze
The Moon tonight is there for us she’ll whisper in each heart
She carries hopes around the world to lovers far apart
The Moon tonight is all I need my goddess high above
