I used to think all men would be like me
And treat their friends the way I try to do
It’s taken me the longest time to see
Not everyone can be like me and you
Some people think that they can win a heart
By criticising all their love can do
But jealousy will always tear apart
No jealousy exists when love is true
I offer what I am for you to see
And bid you take a chance on who I am
I think you’ll find that love can set you free
And trust is all you need to breach the dam
I’ll never understand another way
For love’s not just a word that you can say.
